Historic formula
Dr. Eli G. Jones was an Eclectic physician whose main work was published in 1911 after a forty-year career specializing in cancer treatment. Over the course of his long career, he treated 20,000 patients with cancer. He claimed an 80% success rate.
His final gift to his “brother physicians” was the recipe for the elixir that he regarded as the most important item in his repertoire of treatments, the Compound Syrup Scrophularia. This historical formula was recreated by the medical philosopher and herbalist, Ingrid Naiman who named it Seneca elixir.
It has been the earnest study of my life to find such a combination, which I could leave as a help to my brother physicians in their efforts to cure the more desperate forms of this disease. I have the utmost faith in the curative power of this combination.
Eli Jones, M.D.
Dr. Jones recommended that patients take one tablespoon of the syrup three times a day. Besides tasting delicious, it seems, as the name would suggest, to offer great relief for conditions that are characterized by swelling and lumps. Scrofula was the word used in times past to describe lumps and bumps in the lymphatic system that were believed to be related to tuberculosis, other infections, and tumors, both benign and malignant.

Our Compound Syrup Scrophularia, called Seneca Elixir, contains: scrophularia (figwort) leaves and roots, phytolacca root, rumex crispus root, celastrus scandens bark and root, podophyllum root, juniper berries, guaiacum wood, and citrus essential oil for flavoring…. Our experience is that this product is also an excellent parasiticide.
